Myanmar cyclone: How you can help

Emergency relief organisations around the world are appealing for funds to help survivors of the deadly cyclone in Myanmar.

Most are appealing for cash rather than donated goods, which they say enables them to target aid most efficiently and where it is most urgently needed.

Here are some of the organisations who have launched emergency appeals. Many are taking international donations by credit card, or through local banks:

The UK Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella organisation of 13 international relief charities, including the British Red Cross, Oxgam and Save the Children. It accepts donations from the UK and overseas.
