midsummer-eve

Tomorrow is Midsummer (Juhannus in Finnish), second important day in Finland after Christmas. Finns start to celebrate Midsummer on the eve (Friday), Midsummer Day (tomorrow) and mostly they celebrate at countryside, near to lake or coast. Therefore, the town and cites are empty. It is quiet.

Besides, the length of the day during Midsummer is the longest of the year. After that the length of the day will starts become shorter and shorter. Now, the sun rises at 4am and sets at 11pm. In short, I’m experiencing 19 hours sunlight (in Turku).
