Life abroad, a Malaysian experience

journeying-life-abroad

Time flies, I already abroad about a year in Finland. But, today I would like to share one Malaysian’s abroad experiences.

hi there ! after about 7 months working in Finland, my personally experience is :

1. Have to adjust myself, in terms of office culture, to suit the Finnish style. Asian office normally very busy hectic, here more ‘relax’ and paperless

2. Go back from work sharp sharp 4pm ! even manager level

3. Weekend no one will call you from office, hardly as they respect privacy very very much

4. No traffic jam, that’s for sure. Furhtermore I am in a small town called Mikkeli, about 260km from Helsinki

5. work and rest are very balance……… Finland is full of nature view and best air quality you could even get in the world

6. No so much ‘Pat Gua’ stories about other people personal life in the office, at least in my office and those Finnish that I know

7. Working here and earning Euro allow ones to travel around European countries at a very reasonable price ……. lots of budget airlines, hotels and car rental….cannot convert laa……. if 1 to 1 basis, have higher quality of life I suppose

8. In terms of friends, quite easy to get friends if you drink beers and wine, but over here the hospitality is nothing compared to Asian hospitality……… not so much…… just maybe hi hi bye bye friends

9. In terms of food, simply western food, a fresh salad and a piece of pork, chicken or beef, will be a complete meal for them. Very simple and nothing compared to Asian variety as well

Hello, YenJai. I fully agree with you.

To me, this is call quality life. After office hours, no one even will disturb your private time; unless urgent matter like live or death.
