Finnish evening
Nov 18
My colleagues have offered us a traditional Finnish evening on Thursday evening. It was so wonderful; not only the foods but also good chance for all of us gather together enjoys the evening. We start with some alcohol drinks, and then my colleagues offered us the first cuisine ~ Karelian pie (karjalanpiirakka), eggbutter spread (munavoi), traditional Finnish squeaky cheese (leipäjuusto) and cloudberries jelly. My colleagues taught us spread some eggbutter on the karjalanpiirakka and spread cloudberries jelly on the cheese before enjoy them.

After a while, the second cuisine was served. My colleagues served us ~ sweet bread from the archipelago (saaristolaislimppu), elk meat balls, pickled beet root, mashed potatoes, and lingonberry with sugar. Wow…we were almost full now. After this, my colleagues showed us the Finnish activities they used to have.

Finish? Not yet. Don’t forget dessert. My colleagues served us Finnish porridge cooked with lingonberry juice and whipped (vispipuuro), traditional pancake from traditional pancake from Ahvenanmaa (Ahvenanmaan pannukakku), coffee and tea as our dessert. The porridge was served together milk or sugar and the pancake was served together with jam and cream. Yummy……
Thanks to my colleagues. I have a wonderful evening with so many Finnish traditional foods.

Finnish are friendly too, don’t they??
So, how it taste like? Do you like it? I love anything with cheese on it…except blue cheese…
Maybe you should have a Malaysian nite for your Finnish friends too…

TehSee, Finn are friendly.
Different culture, different cuisine. To me, the foods here are nice, very healthy.
I already prepared Malaysian cuisines for my colleagues once in last year. Look at the related articles Malaysian cuisine for my colleagues in Finland

Yes finnish food is healthy and simple. You should perhaps get one of them to make you moose meat (hirvenliha) with some perunamussi and puolukkahiilo. Nammmmm … if you visit Helsinki again, let’s go to Lappi (they serve very good moose dish)
