Arrived in Helsinki.
Aug 29
We arrived at Helsinki main railway station after one and half hours plus on the train. When we stepped out from the main railway station, it gave us a different feeling. Yup, it is a big city in Finland. If you are come out from the main entrance of the railway station, then, the public local bus station is on your right hand side. The new public intercity bus station at Kamppi was completed several months ago, therefore, it become more convenience to everyone. The underground train, Helsinki Metro links the city centre to the eastern suburbs (21 km – 16 stations, two branches). Besides, you can tour the Helsinki city with tram.It is very convenience to travel in Finland because the public transport system here is really well planed.

We walked ahead to our hostel from the railway station. During our holiday, we tried to stay at the hostel which near to railway station or bus station and near to the attractions. The hostel we stayed was Hostel Erottajanpuisto. She won an award, Hostel of the year 2005 in Finland before, which is why my girlfriend likes it. The hostel not like the hostel Tampere, it is located at the third floor of a 19th century building. Before enter, we need to press the door bell to allow the hostel staff open the door for us. We booked a double room at this hostel. But, funny thing here was we can hear our next room’s conversation clearly. An Italian guy stayed at next door to us. He met a girl at hostel and chatting to her all the time. Their conversations were clearly heard by us in the room every night. Once, the guy wants to have further action but was refused by the girl. Luckily it was not, if not we can’t sleep well because it happened at 4 o’clock early in the morning. Well, a different experience, right?
