I prefer laptop as my personal computer. Well, I think you can guess several reasons why I like laptop more than desktop. However, one disadvantage of laptop is the keyboard and the monitor are join together. This cause me have poor posture all the times while I’m using my laptop. Eventually, cause my back, neck, shoulder and wrist strain especially my shoulder.
In order to overcome this problem I really need to find a solution for good laptop ergonomics. At first, I thought I will buy the Logitech Alto laptop stand (the price is 99euro).
However, I found my laptop does not suitable for the Logitech Alto laptop stand (read the review) because my audio and mic ports are at front. They will be unusable. I have to think about alternative. After did some browsing on internet I got an idea to do my own laptop stand.
It is easy, what you need is a bookend, floor protector pads.
Bend it to the shape as showed in the pictures.
Then, stick the floor protector pads at the front of laptop stand to prevent it scratch the surface of laptop. Stick the floor protector pads at the back of laptop stand too in order to make it stand firmly on the table.
Here you are, a DIY laptop stand.
I’m going to buy a keyboard on this coming Monday. After that, I hope I will have a good laptop ergonomics and no more stress pain.
UPDATED: Bought new keyboard, Logitech Ultra flat keyboard.
After that, I hope I will have a good laptop ergonomics and no more stress pain.

I do not know how often laptops crash. I just know that years ago laptop crashes was one major disadvantage.

If you place the laptop so that you can type in a comfortable position, you are forced crane your neck and hunch your shoulders in order to see the text on the display. Similarly, if you position the laptop at the right height for your eyes, you have to raise your shoulders and arms in an awkward position to be able to type and handle the mouse or touch pad.

I think this is one of the best stands I ever seen.
I just found this site trying to get ideas how to make my laptop stand, because, they are not cheap at all – even some of them are just alum. sheet.
Right know I am making my laptop stand using the side of the old PC case. Recycling
KJ: Thanks. I’m still using it till now.
