Finally, the 51st Merdeka Logo (Logo Hari Kemerdekaan ke 51) was announced. Congratulations to the winner, Mr. Anuar Dan who won RM10,000 for his piece of art. Have a look on his art works too at this site.

The first solar eclipse for this century happened on 1st Augsut 2008. This lucky guy managed to take the video for solar eclipse on the aeroplane from altitude of 27,000 feet from a location 140 km east of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut.

My wife celebrated her birthday in Turku for the first times in her life. It just a simple celebration, no birthday party was organised, no friends were invited, just two of us. We went to Red Hot Chilis restaurant for Mexican food on Saturday afternoon. On the her birthday, I bought her a cake and prepared a slightly different dinner compare with what we used to have daily.
My wife said,
Several surprises have been received unexpectedly from my boss, KJ and friends in Malaysia. Hope that birthday is just like a day you can receive presents but needless to count your age.

The romantic content of the Valentine’s day was not strong as you can feel in other countries. In Finland, 14th February is better known as Friendship day (Ystavanpaiva in Finnish). It is a day dedicated to the celebration of the beautiful bond of friendship. Finns will send gifts, chocolates and flowers to their friends.
Really different, right?
Well, our first Valentine’s day in Finland was simply. Nope, not candle light dinner but “normal light” dinner only. We just have home made dinner at home and of course, roses. (more…)
