There is one computer shop newly open for business at BioCity. This brochure was distributed to areas near to the shop.

16th BioSpymposium boat party

On 24th August I was on board one of the restaurant boats (m/s Rudolfina) on Turku River (Aurajoki). I was there because I was one of the poster presenters in 16th Biosymposium. Of cource, it was free of charge. The party was started at 7pm. This was an evening cruise to the archipelago. The cruise took about 3 hours from Turku to archipelago then return to Turku. Dinner was served on board. During the cruise, the organizers had invited the Student Union Choir of University of Turku as our live entertainment. Don’t ask me what songs they were sung on board. I only can tell you they were Finnish songs because I can’t understand even one of them.

BioCity is located at Turku Science Park. It is the place where life science and molecular medicine related researches carry out. Research groups working here are from the University of Turku, Åbo Akademi University, the Turku University Central Hospital, the VVT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) Medical Biotechnology Unit and the KTL (National Public Health Institute) Turku unit and also private companies. There are many research programmes carry on in BioCity, Turku Centre for Biotechnology is one of them.
