Amsterdam Magere Brug

Lunch

After visited Anne Frank House, we went to China town for our lunch, :hehe: :hehe: I had roasted duck rice and my wife had roasted duck noodle as lunch. Yummy… but don’t mention the service.

After lunch, we continued our walking tour to Waterlooplein and outdoor market. We have a coffee break there. Wow… the coffee is cheap compare with Finland. We then further to the Magere brug bridge. The weather on that time was cloudy and we were against the sunlight, therefore, it was hard to get beautiful pictures for Magere brug bridge. I think when you were on-board the canal cruise perhaps you can have a nice picture snapped.

Our journey was continued to the Rembrandtplein (Rembrandt Square). A square name after the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn. There is a group of bronze statues of Rembrandt’s painting “De Nachtwacht” (his masterpiece, Nightwatch) in the square. We continued our tour to the Amsterdam Historich Museum which located in the centre of the city. However, we don’t have luck to visit this museum. A private event was held at that museum that moment and it only opened for invited guests only. Humm… sound strange a bit.

While thinking where should we went next, two teenagers guys approached us and asked a favour from us. They told us they were recording (video camera) different languages of birthday greeting from different nationalities for their friend’s birthday. We did help them although we felt a bit funny and curious about their words.

After a whole day walk, we were tired. Therefore, we decided rest at studio room in evening. Have I mentioned about the Euro Cup 2008? The match on that day evening was Netherlands vs France. The whole city was in orange (Netherlands royal colour). Almost everyone was in orange, orange hat, orange T-shirt, orange skirt, orange short and hot pant, orange bra (no, I don’t see it) and you name it. We watched the match at studio room. When team of Netherlands scored a goal, the whole city was celebrating with very loud “GOAL!!!”. Frankly, that match was great.
