Amsterdam City of Bicycle
What is special in Amsterdam? If you ask, we will tell you the bicycles. Biking is common practice in Amsterdam. Citizens of Amsterdam use bicycle as their vehicle for daily activities. You can find the bicycle paths and bike racks throughout the city. There even a 3 levels building serves as bicycle parking lot (have a look on the picture) near to the Amsterdam Train Central Station. Can you imagine how many bicycles you can find in the city? Many bicycles are stolen every year, therefore, local have their bike locked with big and fat chain together with lock. You can imagine how heavy is the chain with lock. But, the Dutch ladies just carry it inside their handbag. Hummm……
Always remember during your visit, never stand at bicycle path to look at your map or chatting with someone else. When you hear the bicycle bell, try your best to get out of the way as fast as possible. If not, the next you will hear some words (in Dutch by bicycle rider). In Amsterdam city, bike rules.
