Journeying

On Wednesday 22 Nov 2006, I attended Annual Systems Biology Research Program organized by Turku Centre for Biotechnology on Viking Line cruise. This was my second times attended the System Biology Research Program seminar on the cruise. We on board M/S Amorella at Turku harbour. Later, we changed to the other ship, M/S Isabella at Mariehamn harbour, Åland and ahead back to Turku harbour. After changed to M/S Isabella, we have Viking buffet there. I have delicious meals ^-^

Thanks to Daphne, the founder of Malaysians Abroad.net. She had introduced this doll in the Malaysians Abroad forum. After that, I decided buy one for my girlfriend. At first, I want to buy this doll through online shop in Malaysia; however, something not pleasure happened on me. Therefore, I decided to buy it from Hong Kong through eBay. The toy was delivered to Finland first, and then I posted it from Finland to my girlfriend in Malaysia.

It was so foggy in Turku yesterday. While I’m on my way to city centre for my weekly shopping, I have snapped a couple of photos on the bus. I have taken the photos from student village to city centre and from city centre back to student village. Share these photos to all of you.

My colleagues have offered us a traditional Finnish evening on Thursday evening. It was so wonderful; not only the foods but also good chance for all of us gather together enjoys the evening. We start with some alcohol drinks, and then my colleagues offered us the first cuisine ~ Karelian pie (karjalanpiirakka), eggbutter spread (munavoi), traditional Finnish squeaky cheese (leipäjuusto) and cloudberries jelly. My colleagues taught us spread some eggbutter on the karjalanpiirakka and spread cloudberries jelly on the cheese before enjoy them.

I arrived in Turku last autumn. However, that time I don’t have camera with me. After that, I’m trying to look for a digital camera but sound too expensive me. Well, during my girl friend last visit, she left her digital camera here before she left for Malaysia (sigh…….). Now, I can take some photos to share. Share with you the autumn of Turku.

Today is my birthday. My colleague made a wonderful birthday cake for me. Of course, the cake was shared with my colleagues. Million thanks to my colleagues, I really surprised and touched. This is my second birthday celebration at here. I still remember my first birthday celebration in Turku last year. One of my colleagues, Vidal, bought me a pumpkin-like birthday cake. On top of it were full of candles!
