We should eat less rice now?

It is a heavy morning to me. Before we facing this food crisis, we heard that our money were spent like these,

RM790,000 spent on jets
The government spent RM792,325.20 for the use of executive jets by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Razak between Feb 24 and Mar 7.
Abdullah said this in reply to Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (PAS - Marang)

RM39.11 million spent on Angkaswan programme.
Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr Maximus Ongkili told the Parliament that Government paid RM39.11 million for the Angkasawan space programme.

RM10m gone in 3 days
RM10 million of the Association of Wives of State Assemblymen and Members of Parliament in Selangor (Balkis) transferred to another account and then to Bakti.

Now, we are facing food crisis we were told eat less rice. Fine, we can go for bread, however the price of flour also hiked. The price of noodle also hiked. What else we can eat? When the price of petrol hiked, we were told to change our live style. What else?

Should we sit down and think, where the tax money goes? Should it be spent like this? Please, work hard on anti-corruption.

Food prices rise, eat less rice

KOTA BARU: The Government will introduce a “holistic” package to deal with the global shortage of food commodities, including calling for a reduction in rice consumption.

Agriculture and Agro-Based Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said this in response to the Thai Government’s recent call for their people to reduce rice consumption to address the global increase in prices and acute shortage of staple foods.

“Each adult Malaysian consumes a per capita average of 77kg of rice per annum so there is room for a reduction by substituting it with a greater intake of vegetables and an emphasis on a health-conscious diet,” he said after visiting the Merdeka padi scheme in Mulong with Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority chairman Datuk Seri Annuar Musa.

My heart is heavy now, really heavy. I can imagine how hard my family members struggling for living. What should we do? Sit down and wait? Please, wake up. Work hard on anti-corruption.
