University with 10 students left

What!!!
The government is taking a hard look at the future of the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), a post-graduate university whose enrolment has dwindled.

The university is operating with about 10 students left.

A source close to the university said at its peak, there was an average of 20 students in each of the seven programmes offered: information technology, biotechnology, transportation and logistics, materials science and engineering, construction engineering and management, system engineering and management, and energy and environment. The research ties with MIT have by and large been discontinued.

Does it is a joke? This is tertiary level of education!

What if the University needs to shut down, what is the impact to the previous graduated students!?

I have friends graduated from MUST, does is sounds fair to them? What I concern is what happen to those obtained their degree from this university. Will it become a piece of paper only?

malaysia has so many universities compared to nation’s size, i’m not suprised if some of them are closed.

    Hello, mypapit.

I don’t agree with you in this case. This university was formed in the year 2002 under Dr.M suggestion. Besides, this university is work together with MIT in US. To be frank, this university was formed by M’sia Government not private sector.

What about 100 more people graduated from this university? Are they deserve that? They are doing their MSc. not Bac. Will they deserve the degree they have in their hand become a piece of paper only? They have spent 3 years or more in their MSc study. Many friends of mine were graduated from that Univiersity.

Who’s fault? Blame the students? The people should not go to study at that University?
