No permit for Protest rally - No surprise
No surprise to this. IF PDRM is granted a permit for this kind of protest, I believe it will be a HUGE surprise in Malaysia.
They explained they are not in favour of government nor UMNO but safety of the public.
KUALA LUMPUR: The police will not allow the Coalition Against Inflation (Protes) to stage a price hike rally tomorrow despite Protes informing police about the rally.
Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman said police would not allow the rally, which is to take place in front of KLCC.
“We have not issued any permit as their letter to us does not meet our requirements. As such the gathering will be deemed illegal and we advise the public against participating in any way,” he said.
He said all roads leading to and near KLCC would be cordoned off in the morning and only be reopened when it was considered safe.
