Blog, enemy of the nation?

Are they really no idea what blog is or they don’t want to understand what blog is? Here again.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 20 (Bernama) — Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin today asked newspapers not to quote from blog websites when writing news stories as the source of the information cannot be considered authoritative.

“The information posted on the blog website may be something provocative, politically motivated, inaccurate and are mostly rumours floated for the interests of certain parties,” he said.

Zainuddin hoped newspapers would not give credit to blog websites as they could become influential and become widespread.

Saying that there was no need to ban blog websites, he urged bloggers to be more responsible.

Zainuddin said the Government could control the bloggers by way of legislation although his ministry did not have the power to do so.

What kind of information he tries to tell here? All bloggers are liars? Or something else?

It really sounds like Ministers prefer to voice on behalf other Ministries. Today you voice on behalf this ministry, tomorrow I voice on behalf that ministry. Who becomes confuse actually when someone read the newspaper tomorrow?

Well, this piece of information may help you understand better about those Ministries’ duties.

Monitoring Internet and private broadcasting media comes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communication. The Information Ministry is only tasked to overlook Radio and Television Malaysia (RTM) and national news agency Bernama. The responsibility of monitoring and regulating newspaper lies with Internal Security Minister and not other government agencies.

    zewt,

its very good as u really so concious about this blog, especially act as a “english police”. i m the loyal fans of this blog too. in fact, i should thanks for “upgrading” our english level (AS I KNOW, THIS BLOG GOT LOTS VISITORS). However, u sound too ego there. if u really so “hate” to remind the blogger abt the small error that he made, just KEEP QUIET. if u really want to point out the error or mistake next time, please be sincere. we all r in learning stage everyday. i believe none of us is perfect. its nothing to be “proud” when u can point out someone’s mistake! right? :?:
