Do you see multi-lingual signboards in airports or habours? When you are abroad and you are in tourist spots or heritage areas, you find one of languages on the signboard there you could understand, do you feel grateful? Does that help you to find your information or sightseeing place you want to go much easier? (more…)

The FIRST is so important?

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Learned this from The Sensintrovert: Should We Continue Giving MSM Chances If They Keep On Publishing Factually Fatally Flawed news?. May I ask the FIRST is such important in this case?

Last month, a final year student of Bac. Forensic Science of local university (that university claimed that they are the FIRST in the scene) wrote a letter to Malaysiakini (letter in Chinese, translation in English can be found at here) highlighted their current situation in that field. In less than a month, we heard another local university come out with this programme and claimed the FIRST in ASIA. (more…)

RM6.1 Billion Space Science University Planned In Kota Tinggi

JOHOR BAHARU, April 27 (Bernama) — A local company and its overseas partner plan to set up Space Science University of Malaysia (UniSam) costing RM6.1 billion on 2,500-acre site in Kota Tinggi.

Next Systems Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Noor Faizal Abdul Samad said the university would be equipped with modern and international-standard space science laboratories and recruit renowned experts.

“If the proposal is accepted, Malaysia will emerge as the third country in the world to have a space science university after Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, United States, and International Space University in Strasbourg, France,” he told Bernama recently.

IF we produce such graduates from that University, will they secure for job? We have so many examples as our mirror (the recent one), that mirror is not enough for us to learn a lesson? (more…)

We have Bac. Forensic Sci. now but…

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Again, we never learned! This is a waste of money, time, and man power! We always have something SIOK-sendiri instead of fully utilise it. What a shame! Some rules should be changed for the need of current situation. I really don’t know how to express my feeling about that. I only can say what a waste, what a waste, what a waste!

IF they are not yet ready (PDRM and Jabatan Kimia), don’t simply come out something for people. This is matter of their future not a joke or for fun! You asked students take the course and then you tell them sorry there are not suitable position in both departments later. This is not for fun, they are not white rat in laboratory. (more…)

Malaysia’s higher education at critical stage, says World Bank

MALAYSIA’S higher education system is at a critical state and lagging behind that of neighbouring countries, according to a World Bank report carried by Utusan Malaysia.

The front-page report, entitled “Malaysia and the Knowledge Economy: Building a World-Class Higher Education System,” said the country would need to focus and build clear strategies if it wants to compete on an international platform.

As such, the World Bank urged Malaysia to concentrate on choosing a more effective administration and financial model, improving overall quality of the universities, equipping graduates to function in a knowledge-based economy and creating a solid network between the private sector and universities.

The 258-page report was distributed at the Regional Higher Education Conference held at the KL Convention Centre on Monday.

UPM-bullies
poster by Mob’s Crib

I would like to ask : How many type of POLICE we need to have in our so-called society and what kind of POLICE we need in our society? Please try to think about my questions here base on the matter happened in UPM.

I wish you can spend some time watch this video clip. If you can’t access it, you can consider the alternative side. Look at the staffs (security guards) attitude! Does it sound like bullies to you? Do you think this kind of people qualified to work as security guard? Possible for them provide a safe and friendly environment to students in university with that kinf od attitude?

We have laws in our country? “Law” mee, ada (got). (more…)
