Complaint against TM Net, settle?

I would like to express my heartiest appreciation to CAP for helping me to settle this matter.

TM Net had sent me two e-mails on 17 Aug 2007 informed me that they are going to rebate that outstanding balance to my Streamyx account. TM Net also told me I can check this rebate by log in to my Streamyx account on-line.

However, it is mission impossible for me because my Streamyx account was terminated since September 2005. How to log in unless I hack? @.@ Therefore, I have no idea whether TM Net already rebate it or not.

I received an e-mail from MCMC on 10 Sept 2007 saying that TM Net already processed the rebate to my Streamyx account. I’m sorry to tell that I only can assume TM Net had did it to my “Streamyx account”.

With those e-mails I had received, I think my so-called “outstanding balance” for my Streamyx account was settled.

I’m very sorry to tell you that I had terminated my Streamyx account in the year 2005. Immediately after that, my Stremayx ID and Passowrd were no longer valid from the date of termination. Therefore, I can’t log in to the TM Net Billing website as you had suggested for clarification.

I think, I could!

I received second call from TM Net (first call was on 28th June 2007) regarding the matter I had mentioned in my previous post entry. After that matter, I wrote letter to MCMC, CAP and TM Net. MCMC had instructed TM Net to response to me in 15 days. Well, they proofed me again they are indeed in very GOOD management.

Very good management! First call from TM Net on 28 June 2007 said that case was closed. Now, second call from TM Net said pay-lah that outstanding balance, RM33 ONLY.

Consumer rights? Forget about it.

Today, I received another call (approximately 4:55am, local time) at 9:45am (Malaysia time) from TM Net in response to my letter to MCMC. Well, the lady doesn’t understand my points in my letter at all; she kept on tell me I just owed TM Net RM33 ONLY, ONLY, ONLY. Yes, after long, long, long conversation (I want to sleep) I asked for conclusion, she said I can go to TM point near by to pay that RM33 ONLY! Hey, what is the logic here? I really don’t see the logic at here. RM33 maybe a small amount, however, I referring to my CONSUMER RIGHTS here. Check my points in my previous post entry.

I tried to tell more however the call was cut suddenly ad never re-call again. I can’t call back because the number showed on my mobile was PRIVATE NUMBER.

Good service? World class management? My FOOT. Consumer rights in Malaysia? You tell me.

UPDATED:

One of Malaysians Abroad forum members reminded me about mobile roaming charges. After I checked it; Oh my goodness! I lost all balance due that stupid call from TM Net! Apparently all mobile roaming charges were cost on me! What the “tu-tu-tu-tu (censored sound)” service by TM Net! Monopoly business; acts like BULLIES to those poor people!

My colleagues commented this matter as stupid and no consumer rights. You tell me, logic or not?

Could I call them as ISP robber (02)

I wrote several letters to TM Net, CAP and MCMC with my receipt attached after received the debt collector’s call on 16th March for my streamyx “outstanding balance since 2005” (You may want to refer here).

Today (after one and a half month later), I received call from TM Net staff and they apology to me for their mistake and all inconvenience had caused. They promised they will remove my name from Telekom black list too (I demand that in MCMC letter).

Apology accepted and thank you. Well, good to know case closed now.

I will know in future whether my name is remove from Telokom black list.

I have difficulties with the supplier of my project here yesterday evening. I was headache to solve the difficulties caused. Well, I received a call from Malaysia at 3:32am (local time) today.

Just imagine you were in the bed on that time and suddenly you received a call from home. “Early morning call is not a good call” this is a saying we used to hear. It is true!

The call was made by a debt collecting company on behalf of TM Net. She was rude and impatience in the phone. I was awaken by her, how can I answer her with CLEAR mind?

She told me that I still unsettled my Streamyx bill for the year 2005. She asked me wish to pay or not. She also told me that I was blacklisted by TM Net due the unsettled bill. WHAT !!! Now is 2007 !!!

taiweiquA group of broadband (Streamyx) users in Malaysia have modified a Chinese song (ISP版 太委屈 Too Grievance ISP version) to express their unsatisfactory of the broadband service they got.

What can we do if the business is monopolise by one company and the authority still allows the monopolise culture going on? The users already did what ever they can. The rest is beyond their power.

Currently, they still working on the song’s Music Video (ISP版 太委屈 Too Grievance ISP version Music Video). Here is the sneak preview for the song and lyrics.

They really work on MV for the song

music videoOn last week, a group of broadband (Streamyx) users in Malaysia have modified a song (ISP版 太委屈 Too Grievance ISP version) to express their unsatisfactory of the broadband service they got. They already did whatever they can. They called the TM net customer service centre and repeat all the steps requested by the staff. Obviously, they still don’t get better internet connection. Currently, they are working on the song’s Music Video (ISP版 太委屈 Too Grievance ISP version Music Video). The storylines are ready and also the singer(s) (here). I think they are going for video shooting soon.

They still have problem with their internet connection. However, they still have to pay full amount for the service. Why? Because according to TM net terms, the service they provide is based on a “best effort” basis. Why don’t go for other Internet Service Provider? A good question, the answer is the TM Net has monopoly the business until the last miles in Malaysia. Take it of leave it. Why monopoly allowed? Ask Malaysia Government.

The broadband service provided by TM net is lousy? When internet connection problem occur, customer calls the TM net customer service centre. The staff will ask the customer to unplug the RJ45 and phone cable from the modem first then switch off the modem. Wait for a moment; plug in those cables to the modem and then switch on the modem again. If the problem still present, the staff will asked about the network card customer has and also the manufacture brand of the modem.

This happen recently when my girlfriend tried to apply a Streamyx account for her sister. For your information, the TM net web page which allow customers to send their complaints will gives “ERROR” message when you click on send button. Ya, even the call in customer service centre gives error message too. So, they will tell you “We don’t receive complaints for our be-loved customers.”

To whom it may concern,

I was extremely disappointed with your online application service. I’ve tried many times to sign up a streamyx account for my sister but unfortunately many times were end up with system down or error. In one month ago, I’ve registered my application via member get member programme and got an offline MIPS order number. I have waited for two weeks but unfortunately this had turn up to be ‘no such application’ when I was told by your service centre. In this wireless era, i thought online registration should be very efficient, unfortunately, this doesn’t applicable to TM Net.

Now, second chance is given (of course, i don’t have second choice as you all have given the chance to monopolise the market but do not know how to appreciate this golden chance). I’ve registered my application yesterday

I got the offline MIPS order number again : 111-20060924-*********. Today, I tried to log on and check my application status, unfortunately, my application was not found in your system. What’s happening now? I am unbearable to wait for another two weeks and finally your people tell me my application is a ghost application. In this competitive world, time is very precious. I indeed need your people to help me to get my registration done. Or at least, tell me where I have done wrongly.

I have problem to get “smooth” internet traffic with my girlfriend in Malaysia recently. The line traffic to Malaysia is slow and sometimes it seems like “jammed”. My girlfriend had Streamyx 512Kbps broadband service installed at her house. Just look at how Wikipedia says to TM net services for example Streamyx broadband service. Wikipedia, a free online encyclopaedia; almost every internet users know about it.

……Callers to the TMnet customer service hotline are often put on hold. Some subscribers have even complained that they have been put on hold and forced to wait for more than 30 minutes. Most of the phone operators or customer service officers employed by TMnet aren’t computer literate. They are just given a list of troubleshooting questions and all they need to do is read out the answer whenever there is a complaint. Based on insider information, it is believed that most of TMnet’s hotline staff do not even have Streamyx (broadband) at home, meaning that they are mostly clueless about the usual problems that plague broadband users. Most of the times, the users themselves may have to explain basic broadband/networking concepts to the hotline staff, after politely refusing the staff’s “solutions”…….

I believe you have those kinds of experiences also, right? I have experienced once at my friend’s house on June. He had Streamyx just new installed at his house. Then, problems occurred and he made complaints. Guess what? The technician want my friend wait him at home to let him come to his house check the problems. What? Wait at home? My friend needs to work. Those technicians only work during office hours. Problem is during office hours everyone is working, no one at home. We can’t expect everyone get a day holiday or two to wait for them. Those technicians assumed everyone filed a complaint against Streamyx service must wait them to come to their house. What kinds of service is?

……Most significantly, it is also clear that TMnet has failed to meet the Quality Of Service Standards set by the MCMC, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission that regulates broadband service provisions.(Reference 06) It is apparent from the number of commentaries from members of the Malaysian public, available on Google.com(Reference 07) on the general quality, speed of the service as well as speed of installation. TMnet very clearly does not meet the guidelines on the salient issues of network latency (no more than 85ms, 95% of the time during busy hours) and fulfillment of installation orders (100% of installation orders shall be fulfilled within 7 business days)(Reference 08)……
