Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007No powers to compel them to testify
The panel completed its three-hour meeting at 12.45pm.
At a press conference after the meeting, Haidar (left) stressed that the panel had no special powers to compel potential witnesses to testify.
He said that the panel is requesting those who can help in verifying the authenticity of the video clip to “voluntarily” come forward.
When asked whether the panel can give protection to witnesses, Shankar answered: “Truth is the best armour. Justice is the best protection.”
I wonder will this so-called the three-member independent panel for Malaysian judicial scandal will end up with nothing? They even don’t has special powers to compel the witnesses, who dares to be witness after all? Just have this panel before the General Election?
“Truth is the best armour. Justice is the best protection.” I seriously doubt it! (more…)
