However, after several citizens were injured by thugs and a men injured also by policemen on last few weeks, cabinet decided the alternative road of BMC should not be blocked.

Who is behind this group of Gangsters and what the police had done (according to the news they were there monitoring but not come forward to protect the residents)? Why armless residents of Bandar Mahkota Chera must be treated like that? This problem was GENERATED while previous state government still in house. Who signed the contract with the highway company? I really pissed off by the indecent in Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC). I don’t know whole story from beginning like when the Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) or the highway was built, which one first? But, until today I don’t see the Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) developer come out to help on the problem. Where are you, developer of Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC)? Correction: That piece of land is belongs to Kajang Municipal (Selangor state government) now. Long-Term Toll Rate To Reduce Consumers’ Burden, Says Samy Vellu

PETALING JAYA, Nov 5 (Bernama) — The Works Ministry has suggested to the Cabinet to fix toll rates for longer term to avoid burdening consumers.

Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said today the move would avoid a situation where consumers were burdened with a hike in toll rates every three to five years as is the current practice.

“The ministry also proposed that discussions be held with relevant government agencies, including the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA), for feedback before the government signs any agreement with the concessionaires of expressways,” he told reporters after opening a two-day conference on Infrastructure Development and Financing organised by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute here.

Currently, all decisions on toll concessions are made by the Economic Planning Unit without consulting the relevant government agencies.

Samy Vellu said public opinion would also be sought before making any decision on highway toll.*

On the cabinet paper on the request by nine highway concessionaires for a toll hike effective Jan 1 next year, Samy Vellu said the ministry would submit the paper to the cabinet before end of the month.

*Now only he said that. Why don’t get feedbacks from people first before signed those highways contracts? This is a huge burden for people to bear at least decades. Are we really deserve for that? Voters, you know the answer well. Maybe I’m talking rubbish at here. (more…)
