The first Malaysian in space became real on 10th Oct 2007; however, I do not feel excited. Honestly, I would prefer that money spend on basic needs for the sake of Malaysians not just to show BOLEH only. We have so many things need to be fixed in our country and society, make the foundation strong first then only we consider about ‘flying’.

After all, this space project is not our own, we just like a taxi passenger take a ride to space, we don’t develop the space technology by our own like what China did. I read from other blog, people from other country do remember Malaysia now for bad reason, for example, how ‘good’ Malaysia team is during the Asia Cup 2007. See the light?

Check the NASA website and see the crew profile of Expedition 16, Malaysian Angkasawan Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor is Spaceflight Participant.

Spaceflight Participant? Angkasawan? Check the Wikipedia and understand what Spaceflight Participant is and also the Angkasawan too.

Please forgive me to be too pessimistic.
