As long as they are opposition parties

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Whatever policies (although they are benefit to the people, tax payers) they have suggested, we (BN) must objected and disagree with as long as they are from opposition parties. Their (BN) concept seems like ~ On this planet, Earth only BN knows and how to bring developments for Malaysia.

Pak Lah: Ensuring equality not enough

KEPALA BATAS: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said ensuring equality in administering Penang would not mean fairness if only the rich continued to benefit.

Taking a swipe at the new DAP-led Penang Government’s pledge to be transparent and implement an open tender system, the Prime Minister said: “I have heard many statements and reports. This all sounds very good and fair and is also very nice to hear. But please remember that equality does not always mean fairness.” **

“Equal distribution is not necessarily fair if the fate of the underprivileged is not taken care of and their rights not defended. I am not just talking about bumiputras. I am also referring to the Chinese and Indian communities.”

** Maybe, perhaps these X-files could answer so-called “equality, fairness, transparent and an open tender system” in this case. (more…)

Mysteries X-files in Malaysia

Abdullah has said the police and Anti-Corruption Agency have vetted and cleared the current crop for appointment to ministerial portfolios.

To me, IF the Anti-Corruption Agency is not independent one day, I don’t have strong faith to them. The ACA should answer to the Parliament directly only not the PM office.

Dr M said this yesterday in his article, I’m a bit surprise they published his article, you don’t see any in mainstream media before that.

But the public is leery of investigations by Government agencies and departments. Even Royal Commissions are not highly regarded. The people believe, not true of course, that the Government has been interfering with the work of the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA), the Police and the Attorney General (A-G)’s Chambers. The say this is borne out by the results of investigations by these agencies.

When a Deputy Minister was accused of accepting money for the release of a detainee, the A-G said there was no case because the detainee said he did not give any money to the Deputy Minister. It is so easy. If you have a case involving someone, all the enforcement agencies need to do is to ask him whether he was involved. If he says “no”, then there is no case.

For some reason, judges are finding that people accused of murder are not guilty because of insufficient evidence by the police. Yet people who are totally not involved in a case, who were not accused of any misdeeds and who did not appear in court at all and been given a hearing are found guilty and publicly condemned.

The public cannot be blamed for not having faith in Government agencies doing investigations. The public cannot be blamed for suspecting cover-ups by the Government or worse still the Government may be using these enforcement agencies to threaten people.

What me feel 8O and 8O and still 8O is this article published in Malaysiakini! Malaysians are you really damn rich? (more…)

His latest article, Malaysia’s PM pays high price to stay in power.

Most interestingly, Abdullah appointed Muhammad Muhammad Taib as his Minister for Rural and Regional Development. What does such a minister do? He travels to Malaysia’s more far-flung parts and hands out money for development. What he really does is to hand out contracts to politicians, their families and friends to keep them onside. This will be more important than ever now, as the ruling coalition does not have a majority of seats in Parliament drawn from peninsular Malaysia and can only rule with the support of the smaller, regionally based parties in Sarawak and Sabah states on the island of Borneo.

Muhammad Taib’s job will be to fly to those states with suitcases of money to keep them onside. It’s a role for which he’s shown some talent.

IF this is democracy they claimed

“Using” local municipal council (DBKL in this case) to “punish” people who don’t vote for you-know-what-party-is candidates? IF this is true as reported, it just tell Malaysians they are a bunch of no gentleman losers. Besides, it also tell the people who you should not vote on next General Election. They are really underestimate Malaysians. Malaysians are stupid? They thought they can still control media and stop news to spread out? Please, now is 21 century not (more…)

Still remember him? He had written several article about Malaysia before (here, here, here and here). His latest article in his column, he says Malaysia Boleh to all Malaysians. I particularly like these paragraphs

Zainuddin Maidin, the information minister, lost his seat. A measure of how complacent the Government had become was its appointment of the inept Zainuddin to the role in the first place. His appalling performance on Al Jazeera television late last year was a very public international humiliation for all Malaysians. Voters did what Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi did not have the guts to do: they removed him from office.

Malaysia’s media has become so discredited that local bloggers are now hugely popular. Zainuddin had patronisingly warned Malaysians about false information spread by bloggers. They responded by voting one of the most popular bloggers — Jeff Ooi — into parliament.

I’m getting a bit confused after finished this article Restore the third vote in Penang.

How long the new state government has been formed? Years? Months? I believe less than 14 days. On the other hand, sound like we are asking report card from the newly-formed state government in less than 14 days. No doubt it is a constructive suggestion (more…)
