Inflation, a nightmare

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Inflation is a nightmare to everyone in the World. What about the inflation rate in Malaysia? Do you believe the official inflation rate announced by the authority? Frankly, I don’t.

This is a nice article from Malaysiakini (in Chinese, will upload English version if available), a talk held on 29.11.2007 and I wish I can share this article with all of you.

We always heard from Ministers, Deputy Ministers saying that

“People still support us…….”
“People are happy with the current administration……”
“People are happy with the economy……” blah, blah, blah.

Have you ever thought about that who are they(the people) actually? How many of them(people) actually?

UPDATED:

Batu Caves temples not damaged

KUALA LUMPUR: While there was minor damage to the Batu Caves’ property, the temples were not damaged by Hindraf demonstrators who had gathered there early on Sunday morning.

“All the temples are okay. There’s no damage,” said Batu Caves supervisor S. Ratnam, 61, when met at his office yesterday.

[......]

Admitting that water cannons and tear gas were used to disperse the crowd, SAC Jamaluddin said they were forced to do so as the demonstrators pelted his officers and men with stones and bricks.

He said: “I must stress that police did not fire tear gas or use water canons inside the temple premises to disperse the more than 1,000 gathered there.” *

* Let the photos tell you more.

After the BERSIH rally, the mainstream media just demonstrated how well they can “spin” a story from this colour to other colour. They did it again (or not) when reported the Hindraf rally???

HINDRAF rally

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

The weather of this Sunday is not nice, mystery grey, windy and rainy. The mood was spoiled a bit not only by the weather but by a Torjan infected on my wife’s computer too. After fixed the problems caused by Trojan, I just realized that today is Hindraf rally back home.

“Police firing tear gas and chemical-laced water for N times to disperse crowds” This is the phrase you can read from

Internet, News, Blogs, Photos and Videos.

Is that a must to “firing tear gas and chemical-laced water to disperse crowds” for so many times?

Windfall for the Chinese

KOTA BARU: The Chinese community received a windfall from the state Barisan Nasional which approved an immediate disbursement of a RM1mil grant to aid vernacular schools, the poor and houses in a state of disrepair. Announcing this, state Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Annuar Musa said the fund was based on a direct request to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who promptly approved it as an initial contribution.

“It is not for political mileage. It is a sincere contribution for the community after initial feedback discovered that it has been neglected for the past 17 years,” Annuar said after meeting the SMJK Chung Cheng staffers and students here.

The aid was also given because Barisan felt insulted that the PAS-led state government had recently decided to hand out only RM2mil to the community, after governing the state for 17 years, Annuar said

Really felt insulted or really not for political mileage? (Literally: No 300 taels of silver buried here)? (more…)
