Update about the allegations, ranging from corruption to sexual crimes against Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director-general Zulkipli Mat Noor by one of its senior ex-officers. Don’t you feel worry about it? I have.

March 12 date for embattled ACA boss
A parliamentary committee has fixed March 12 for the Anti-Corruption Agency boss Zulkipli Mat Noor to appear before its members and answer a spate of serious graft allegations.

Police re-send probe papers to AG
The police today resubmitted their investigation papers on the sexual crime and assault allegations against Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director-general Zulkipli Mat Noor to the Attorney-General’s Chambers. When contacted, Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan confirmed that the papers were submitted this afternoon.

Zulkipli: ‘I was cleared’
Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director-general Zulkipli Mat Noor has dismissed the allegations against him as baseless.
“Let the law take its course,” he was quoted as saying in a news report.

Another toll road in Klang Valley

‘Smart project’ toll to start at RM2
Motorists will pay RM2 in toll charge to use the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (Smart) from Sungai Besi to Kuala Lumpur when it opens this year and RM7 by 2030, according to details of the ’secret’ concession agreement.

But it is not clear whether the government will set the toll rate at the full amount of RM2 when the road tunnel opens to traffic next month.

“Don’t be too harsh because one day they may become leaders and pillars of our country. Give them a new image and change the negative impression of them,” Deputy Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Tuesday said of the illegal motorcycle racers.

I’m sorry. I’m afraid I’m not very supportive to his remarks. How about you?

HE is in the Information Ministry; perhaps he is very busy and has forgotten about negative news in mainstream newspaper.

Shahrir proposes committee on GLCs

KUALA LUMPUR: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has called for the setting up of a committee to ensure decisions and investments by government-linked companies (GLCs) are accounted for and transparent.

PAC chairman Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad said such a committee would allow the Government to oversee GLC operations.

The committee could also watch over investment projects run by Khazanah Nasional Bhd and the Ministry of Finance Inc, both of which had a total of RM113bil in investments, he said.

SIME (one of GLCs) using BMW as company car now for its Managers staff; before this was Proton Waja or Proton Perdana.

What if, it is true?

Several explosive allegations, ranging from corruption to sexual crimes, have been made against Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director-general Zulkipli Mat Noor by one of its senior ex-officers.

The allegations were made in a report filed last year by former ACA officer Mohamad Ramli Manan to the then inspector-general of police Mohd Bakri Omar.

Ramli expressed hope that the police would launch a thorough investigation into the allegations.

In the final paragraph of his report, the former ACA officer stated that it was on record that he had informed the relevant authorities, including the organisation he had worked for, regarding these allegations since 2003. However, these were ignored.

Ban on fast food ads, ban or not? NOT

What does this mean to you? Last week, the voice to ban the fast food advertisements was strong and loud. Now, the conclusion -

RTM To Air Programmes to Enlighten Public on Fast Foods

Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will air programmes to enlighten the public on fast foods through its Debat Perdana and current affairs slots on its TV1 channel.

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin said RTM could not immediately stop showing fast food advertisements on its television channels because it was bound by contracts worth RM11 million.*

Ban on fast food ads, ban or not?

Recently, he is famous. Every now and then you will read news related to Information Minister in mainstream newspapers.

He had decided Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) ceased broadcast of fast food advertisements immediately. His decision made the fast food companies shocked ~ Thursday February 22, 2007: Fast food Companies Shocked with RTM’s Immediate Ban on Advertisements

Well, this was reported later (change tune?) ~ Friday February 23, 2007: RTM Will Ban Fast food Ads If Directed by Cabinet

“I am aware that this issue would have a significant impact on the advertising industry in the country, as the fast food sector contributes revenue by the hundreds of millions of ringgit each year.” *

“At the same time, the people’s health is very important and if not protected, the quality of health will drop and the government has to spend millions of ringgit to tackle the problem,” Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin said in a statement to Bernama here Friday.
