(UPDATE) UPM, it was already 2 weeks time.

Monday, July 31st, 2006

It was already 2 weeks since UPM announced a committee formed to look in the incident happened on 17th July until now. But, do you hear anything from it? Perhaps this is a sensitive issue to publish on mainstream newspaper here.
An article written (in Malay) by Geng Menyokong Manaf (GM2) was published on Idealis-Mahasiswa on 25th July 2006 here. They have other perspective on this incident, you read it and you judge it.

Update… Mederkareview (online) has this reported: “According to UPM, the result of the committee investigation was CLASSIFIED. Report of this committee will submit directly to Higher Education Ministry. Therefore, the only way to know the answer is ask it from Higher Education Ministry.”……Classified? something related to national security? *_* ……

Test your ability to handle stress

Monday, July 31st, 2006
I received these pictures attached on an e-mail from a friend of mine.

Mentioned in e-mail, these pictures are used to test the level of stress a person can handle. They are absolutely still, none of them are animated. The slower the pictures are in motion, the better your capability to handle stress. Test yourself and see what your result is. Have a nice Monday.

Malaysia, well known in the world.

Double “holy” the mainstream media now?

Thursday, July 27th, 2006
After our Deputy Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the internet media included websites and blogs should refer to the mainstream media for news and resources blah blah blah blah on 25th July. Now we have Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow. I refer to “the mainstream media, theStar ” to blog this.

Government looking at gaps in printing Act
PUTRAJAYA: The Government will study if the Printing Presses and Publications Act should be amended to include the electronic media and the Internet media.
Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow said since the Act was formulated more than 20 years ago, there had been a lot of new developments in the media world and yet only the print media came under the supervision of the ministry.
He said the print media had made numerous references to the anomaly that existed, which allowed the electronic media to get away with things that the print media could not.
“They feel there are double standards, and that it is not a level playing field,” he told reporters yesterday after the closing of the ministry’s Mass Media Conference 2006.
“We too admit there is this gap between the various types of media.
“We are looking into whether to set up one unit to monitor the different types of media.
Fu said the study would also ascertain if the Act was still relevant to today’s needs.
“Just because we are studying it doesn’t mean that it will be amended,” he added.

Wonderful, this is the way Malaysia “looks” at the challenges of the globalisation era and internet era. Hello, Malaysians. Are you 3 years old?

“Holy” the mainstream media

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006
Blogger, you are been monitor. On 25th July, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the internet media included websites and blogs should refer to the mainstream media for news and resources. Ooopppsss…

I don’t know why readers like to read alternative media? In fact, I do practice this everyday. I read a lot of alternative media everyday. Ya, why, why, and why? I still remember a sentence by a headmaster (one of my course-mates) while I’m doing for my first degree. He said: the only news can be trusted on mainstream newspapers nowadays was the result of 4D, Da Ma Cai and Toto.

What are you doing when you are 7 years old?

Monday, July 24th, 2006
I still remember I just start to learn how to write my name when I was seven years old. I start to learn A, B, C… and 一,二,三… during that age at SRJK(C) Sum Sun, Penang, Malaysia. Of course, that age I’m active like “monkey” (according to my mother, But, not that kind of MONKEYs in the Universiti Putra Malaysia Mob videos).

Well, Tze Teng, Chia from SJK(C) Yuk Choy in Ipoh, Perak has already designed his own homepage. Mind you, he is a seven years old pupil. Reported on theStar online today he learnt to use a computer when he was two, and designed a web page featuring his favourite cartoons while he was four. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Everything starts from small and young, just like my 4896 blog. I’m new to blogosphere, I still learning how to blog, feel exactly like the time when I was seven years old.

Today, my blog was already been visited more than 500 times. Wonderful, I consider this is a small token to me :)
