Windfall for the Chinese

KOTA BARU: The Chinese community received a windfall from the state Barisan Nasional which approved an immediate disbursement of a RM1mil grant to aid vernacular schools, the poor and houses in a state of disrepair. Announcing this, state Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Annuar Musa said the fund was based on a direct request to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who promptly approved it as an initial contribution.

“It is not for political mileage. It is a sincere contribution for the community after initial feedback discovered that it has been neglected for the past 17 years,” Annuar said after meeting the SMJK Chung Cheng staffers and students here.

The aid was also given because Barisan felt insulted that the PAS-led state government had recently decided to hand out only RM2mil to the community, after governing the state for 17 years, Annuar said

Really felt insulted or really not for political mileage? How about 此地无银三百两 (Literally: No 300 taels of silver buried here)?
